Soda Ash dye fixer is a mild alkali that promotes the chemical reaction between Procion MX fibre reactive dyes and cellulose (plant) fibre. It is also known as sodium carbonate, washing soda or salt soda. Soda Ash is necessary to activate and set Procion MX (and many other) dyes (without the soda ash solution colours will run and not stick to the fabric).
This Soda Ash can be used for many hand dyeing techniques, including tie-dye.
